OK so here's what happened in-game. I was up against a Hiker and he sent out his Onix. I sent out Kuro, thinking the Onix didn't know Rock Throw. After Kuro died I sent out Nikki (look at the rest of my team - they're all either weak to Rock offensively or defensively) and a Rock Throw crit killed her. Luckily Sparks was able to take down the Onix by paralyzing it and using Grow/Tackle. But I thought this would be a good time to introduce Kris, so I had her Bayleef defeat the Onix instead.
